AI Based Portable ECG Monitoring System With Automatic Arrhythmia Detection Using Deep Learning

INTRODUCTION:

In the current generation, heart problems are the leading cause of death and this project provides an effective solution for it. Abnormal heart rhythms, known as arrhythmia, can be easily detected using sensors. In conventional hospital ECG machines, electrode placement causes high signal noise and skin irritation to patients. To overcome these issues, this AI-based portable system is proposed, where a sensor placed on the chest can efficiently monitor heartbeats and identify cardiac diseases.

Need for AI in healthcare system

At present, there is a huge need for this type of portable ECG system in the healthcare sector. Most rural hospitals do not have expensive 12-lead ECG machines and there are no cardiologists available, so patients don't get diagnosed on time. For ICU patients and old age people at home, continuous heart monitoring is very important to find arrhythmia early and avoid sudden death. So we need a low-cost and portable device which can check a heartbeat live, find any abnormality with deep learning and immediately send an alert to the doctor and family in their mobile. This will also be very useful for telemedicine.

Role of AI in real time patient monitoring:

The main work of this system is to watch the patient's heart all the time without going to hospital. We fix a small sensor on the patient 's chest, it will take the ECG signal non-stop and send it to mobile through bluetooth. Our AI model using CNN and LSTM will check the heart beat and say if it is normal or arrhythmia within 200ms only. If any problem comes, it will send an alert at once to the doctor and family members. So we can monitor old people and ICU patients at home for a full day and doctors can see live ECG from any place. It will reduce hospital visits and help to take fast action if any emergency happens.

Advantages of Edge AI in Healthcare

Low Cost and Portable: Traditional 12-lead ECG machines are very expensive and not available everywhere. Our device is small, low-cost and wearable, so patients can monitor their heart at home without spending much on hospital visits.

Early Detection and Instant Alert: The AI model can detect even a small abnormality in the heartbeat immediately. It sends an alert to the doctor within 200ms, so treatment can be started before it becomes a major heart attack.

24/7 Remote Monitoring: Doctors can view the patient's live ECG data from anywhere. This is very useful for elderly and ICU patients, as they can be monitored continuously at home without needing a nurse all the time.

Future Scope

In the future we can improve this system more. Now it only checks ECG, but later we can add BP monitoring and SpO2 also in the same device. We can connect it with a smartwatch so data will always be available. Also we can use 5G for faster data transfer to doctors. If we

connect with hospital records, the doctor can see the full patient history. Big hospitals can use this for thousands of patients at a time and in villages also telemedicine will become easy. So overall this device will become a full health monitoring system.

The Quantum Puzzle: How Entanglement Ensures Unbreakable Security

In the digital age, security is paramount. As we communicate more online, the need for unbreakable encryption grows. Enter quantum cryptography , a revolutionary field that leverages the power of quantum mechanics to ensure secure communication. Among the various concepts in quantum cryptography, quantum entanglement stands out as a game-changer. But how does it work, and why is it so secure? Let’s explore this intriguing concept through an example inspired by the movie Dhruva Natchathiram (Suduko puzzle secret codes) and break it down into simple terms. The Quantum Sudoku: A Cryptographic Secret Imagine you and your friend are sharing a secret code , but instead of using a traditional encryption key, you choose something as simple as a Sudoku puzzle . Now, picture that this Sudoku puzzle isn’t just an ordinary one—it's quantum entangled , linking your puzzle with your friend’s, no matter how far apart you are. Here’s how it works: 1.      The Entangled...

BRAIN–COMPUTER INTERFACE (BCI): THE FUTURE OF HUMAN–MACHINE INTERACTION

INTRODUCTION : Imagine controlling a computer, wheelchair, or robotic arm simply by thinking about the movement. This is the idea behind Brain–Computer Interface (BCI). BCI is an emerging technology that establishes a direct communication pathway between the brain and an external device, without requiring normal muscle movement. BRAIN COMPUTER INTERFACE : A Brain–Computer Interface is a system that records brain activity, processes the signals, and converts them into commands for an external device. BCI technology is especially promising for people who have lost voluntary muscle control due to conditions such as spinal cord injury, stroke, or neurodegenerative disorders. THE AI BRAIN BEHIND THE BCI: Machine learning plays an important role in BCI by identifying patterns in brain signals and predicting the user’s intentions. SVM and LDA can classify different neural activity patterns, while CNNs can learn complex features from EEG signals. LSTM and deep-learning models can analyse time-...

Electronic Skin (E-Skin): A Revolutionary Innovation in Biomedical Engineering
